About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and on-site technical support for in-house music and performing arts programs
- Manage performer schedules, concert staffing, audiovisual equipment, and operational support during performances and special events
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audiovisual, sound, recording, photography, and related technical equipment
- Produce photography, videography, graphic design, and written content for Arts Program promotion and documentation
- Develop promotional materials, exhibition signage, social media content, presentations, interpretive materials, and artist biographies consistent with Airport branding
- Support planning and implementation of temporary exhibitions, exhibition openings, public programs, and other Arts Program initiatives
- Maintain media assets, program schedules, equipment inventories, digital files, project documentation, and program records
- Track program participation, audience engagement, and other performance metrics
- Support the Arts Program digital and physical document library, including SharePoint, records management, archiving, and retention
- Drive Authority vehicles throughout the airport campus to transport art and special event equipment
- Collaborate with the Customer Experience Department and other Airport stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in art, performing arts, art history, arts administration, fine arts museum studies, conservation, public administration, communications, digital or multimedia, marketing, music technology, journalism, or another closely related field
- Two years of progressively responsible experience involving art handling, exhibition design, collections management, conservation technician work, arts and culture programs, public or fine arts programs, or operating and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment, sound systems, cameras, lighting, and video editing software
- Candidates in the School 2 SAN program may qualify with a relevant degree without meeting the minimum years of experience
- Ability to lift, carry, and move artworks, equipment, and materials up to 20–50 lbs. with or without assistance
- Equivalent combination of training and experience
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain insurability under the Authority’s vehicle insurance policy
- Successful completion of a fingerprint-based background investigation, training, and testing required for employment and operation of Authority and San Diego County physical security, surveillance, radio, and telecommunications equipment
- Valid California driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and compliance with vehicle-use safety policies
- Must acknowledge driving Authority vehicles as an essential function
- Preferred master’s degree in a related field
- Preferred OSHA safety and/or lift operation certification
- Preferred project management or records management certification, such as CAPM, PMP, or Certified Records Manager
- Preferred certification in audiovisual systems, live sound, or digital media technology, such as CTS
- Preferred Adobe Creative Cloud certification
