About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and interviews with stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts
- Observe and document current processes across Operations, Order to Cash, and Procure to Pay
- Develop detailed current-state swim lane process maps showing activities, ownership, handoffs, decision points, systems, and dependencies
- Document roles and responsibilities across processes
- Assess systems, data flows, reports, controls, and process handoffs
- Review process documentation, procedures, controls, reports, and supporting materials
- Identify manual activities, bottlenecks, unnecessary handoffs, redundancies, process complexity, gaps, risks, and control weaknesses
- Evaluate opportunities to simplify, standardize, streamline, or redesign processes
- Identify improvements to cross-functional coordination, process ownership, controls, data flow, and operational visibility
- Develop an inventory of process improvement opportunities
- Categorize opportunities into quick wins and longer-term initiatives
- Assess business impact of recommended improvements
- Prioritize recommendations based on business value, risk, complexity, and implementation considerations
- Translate findings into actionable recommendations for business and leadership stakeholders
- Develop a prioritized process improvement roadmap with recommended initiatives and sequencing
- Communicate rationale, expected impact, dependencies, and considerations for proposed improvements
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of experience in business process engineering, business process management, process improvement, operational transformation, or management consulting
- Demonstrated experience conducting current-state process assessments in complex organizations
- Strong experience developing process maps, swim lane diagrams, workflow documentation, and process narratives
- Experience using process mapping tools such as Microsoft Visio preferred
- Experience assessing Order to Cash (O2C) and/or Procure to Pay (P2P) processes
- Strong understanding of cross-functional business processes, including systems, data, controls, reporting, roles, and handoffs
- Ability to identify process inefficiencies, risks, control weaknesses, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
- Experience developing prioritized process improvement recommendations and transformation roadmaps
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder interviewing skills
- Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative information into concise findings and actionable recommendations
- Strong executive communication, presentation, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and quickly understand complex business environments
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Management (BPM), or continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience working across Finance, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, or related functions
- Ability to work from offices in Houston, Texas or Lafayette, Louisiana
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Fully authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship or transfer
- Must not work C2C
