About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review PFDs, P&IDs, process specifications, and process documentation
  • Analyze mass and energy balances, flow diagrams, and operating conditions
  • Review the sizing and specifications of process equipment and systems
  • Analyze valves, instruments, and control systems from a process engineering perspective
  • Review line and equipment lists, as well as process conditions
  • Verify interfaces between Process Engineering and other disciplines
  • Identify and document inconsistencies, interferences, and nonconformities
  • Apply applicable standards, technical specifications, and design criteria
  • Review vendor documentation
  • Control revisions, issue technical comments, and release documentation for client approval
  • Work independently with critical judgment and a strong focus on technical quality

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience in process engineering within an engineering firm or continuous-process industry, such as petrochemicals, chemicals, or oil and gas
  • Demonstrated ability to independently develop P&IDs and PFDs, from receiving the scope through issuance, without daily supervision
  • Strong knowledge of mass and energy balances and the sizing of lines and equipment
  • Experience with the full workflow for preparing engineering project documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret multidisciplinary project documentation
  • Availability for field activities and occasional travel
