About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform light maintenance repair and cleaning tasks under supervision
  • Take extra precautions when working in patient/resident care areas and keep tools out of children's reach
  • Troubleshoot conditions and situations accurately
  • Perform installation and maintenance of mechanical and stationary systems, including boiler operations
  • Maintain campus grounds and perform outside maintenance duties
  • Perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and bed repair and maintenance
  • Work varying schedules, including on-call coverage one week every fifth week
  • Work hours of 5pm–6:30am and Saturday/Sunday 6:30am–6:30pm as scheduled
  • Perform on-call duties as needed or directed by the department

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Competence using hand tools, meters, measuring devices, and gauges
  • Ability to explain conditions and situations accurately while troubleshooting
  • Ability to work all shifts and hours as scheduled
  • Ability to comply with corporate and facility policies and dress code
  • Understanding of written and verbal communications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, specifications, and ordinances
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in all types of building maintenance preferred
  • Depending on location, a valid driver's license and good driving record may be required
  • Depending on location, CPR/BLS may be required upon hire
