About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents
  • Collaborate with residents, families, providers, and other inter-disciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care
  • Practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and use age- and population-specific standards
  • Care for residents in preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Coordinate care, conduct resident assessments, provide resident education, and perform nursing interventions
  • May serve as charge nurse
  • Delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel
  • Provide assistance and support to delegates to ensure safe, reliable resident care and resolve care and service concerns
  • Function according to the Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Rules, nursing practice standards, and the ANA Code of Ethics

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Travel required to support multiple locations within a 75 mile radius of permanent address
  • 3 months experience in Long Term Care required (6 months preferred)
  • Minimum of 30 hours per month
  • One weekend shift per month
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
  • Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred
