About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote a safe and healthy workforce and environment
- Implement the nursing process within the Sanford injury management department and continuum of care
- Assess, diagnose, establish care plans with outcome criteria, intervene, evaluate, and document responses to actual or potential health problems
- Triage all employee injuries and assess the need for initial and ongoing medical treatment
- Coordinate return-to-work processes
- Educate injured workers regarding workers compensation
- Troubleshoot questions and concerns related to infection transmission prevention and control
- Travel for team, training, third-party administrator, claim review, broker, and other meetings
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduated from an accredited school or college of nursing
- Six years of nursing experience required
- Experience in Employee Health/Occupational Health preferred
- Good physical assessment skills
- Self-starter with excellent time management
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in state(s) of practice and/or multi-state licensure privileges as required by position
- Licensure in states where patients are treated when performing nursing practice over the telephone
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferred as soon as eligible
- Current valid driver’s license
- Must meet all medical guidelines for Sanford Health Category III drivers
