About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer speech and language evaluations, tests, and examinations to diagnose speech problems and swallowing disorders
- Assess speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing problems and develop individualized treatment plans
- Provide speech and language services and adjust treatments based on disease progression
- Instruct clients, patients, and residents in speech and language therapeutic exercises
- Consult with clients, patients, and residents throughout treatment processes
- Ensure compliance with speech and language standards, policies, protocols, and quality requirements
- Document care according to departmental guidelines and regulatory requirements
- Treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders
- Follow accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations
- Collaborate with providers, case managers, third-party payers, and public organizations
- Supervise assistants, aides, and students when requested
- Provide ongoing education and training to peers in areas of expertise
- Participate in departmental and organizational promotional activities
- Perform other related duties as requested by the manager
- Support Marshfield Medical Center - Marshfield three days per week and Marshfield Medical Center - Neillsville two days per week
Requirements
What you’ll need- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence issued by ASHA, or currently working on Clinical Fellowship Year, when working at a Sanford Health facility (not required but preferred by GSS facilities)
- Valid driver's license may be required when applicable
- Must obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment
- Ability to work 40 hours per week on day shifts
- Ability to work across Marshfield and Neillsville facilities
