About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead internal tools and digital production projects from start to finish
  • Understand needs, define requirements, oversee development, validate, and deliver solutions
  • Organize requests, priorities, deadlines, and communication with different departments and vendors
  • Gather and specify requirements, business rules, workflows, and acceptance criteria
  • Lead maintenance projects for tools currently in use
  • Organize sprints with the development team and prioritize fixes and improvements
  • Track deliverables through validation and publication
  • Plan schedules, manage tasks, and hold meetings with developers and vendors
  • Test features before publication, document bugs, and approve deliverables
  • Verify accessibility requirements
  • Support the technical review of digital books and the analysis of government feedback
  • Write guidelines, communications, and weekly status reports
  • Present deliverables to business teams
  • Document decisions, prepare manuals, and train internal and external users
  • Map digital production processes and propose improvements based on data analysis
  • Prepare Excel spreadsheets for system import
  • Evaluate navigation, usability, and user experience across features

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Project Management, Editorial Production, Technology, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience leading projects from start to finish, preferably involving digital tools or products
  • Experience working in environments with a high volume of simultaneous projects and inter-team dependencies
  • Knowledge of project management, including backlog organization, prioritization, and sprint tracking
  • Experience with task and project management tools such as Jira, Planner, or equivalent platforms
  • Experience gathering requirements and preparing functional specifications, including business rules, workflows, and acceptance criteria
  • Experience with system validation and testing, including preparing test scripts, checklists, and bug reports, and approving deliverables
  • Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements for development teams
  • Ability to independently lead projects while organizing requests, priorities, deadlines, and communication with different departments and vendors
  • Experience managing and overseeing vendors
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup formulas, and database preparation and cleansing
  • Analytical ability to identify problems, investigate root causes, assess impacts, and propose solutions
  • Ability to identify risks, dependencies, and impacts on schedules and deliverables
  • Clear and objective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to analyze and validate the usability of web platforms
  • Excellent writing and document organization skills
  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Digital accessibility knowledge is a plus
  • Preferred: experience in the publishing industry, PNLD, digital book production, EPUB, HTML, or accessible digital content
  • A plus: knowledge of AI tools and experience using AI for analysis, documentation, productivity, or process automation
