About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement new application features across frontend and backend components
- Develop REST APIs and business services using Java and Spring technologies
- Participate in solution design, code reviews, testing, and release activities
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, UX designers, QA engineers, and DevOps teams
- Collaborate with geographically distributed teams to coordinate successful project outcomes
- Improve application quality through automated testing and clean coding practices
- Assess existing application architecture and identify modernization opportunities
- Incrementally evolve the modular monolith toward cloud-native design principles
- Modernize deployment pipelines and development workflows
- Improve observability through logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring
- Introduce cloud-native patterns where they provide measurable business value
- Define strategies for service decomposition and bounded contexts when appropriate
- Establish engineering standards, best practices, and architectural guardrails
- Champion automated testing, CI/CD, code quality, and secure development practices
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to technical leadership
- Drive performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability improvements
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Java and experience with Kotlin
- Strong hands-on experience building modern web applications using TypeScript and React
- Proficiency in state management solutions such as Redux and modern frontend tooling
- Extensive experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs
- Cloud-native development experience on platforms like Azure (Preferred)
- Knowledge of Cloud Foundry
- Experience working with large enterprise applications and legacy modernization initiatives
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and cloud software architecture patterns
- Strong experience in cloud security and secure, compliant code
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SAP HANA, SQL Server, Oracle, or DB2
- Experience with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development practices
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in distributed teams
- Fluency in English
