About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute payer communication plans delivering scientific, clinical, and health economic information for Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Sarepta products
  • Deliver scientifically credible and consistent value messages to public and private payer segments
  • Serve as a scientific resource for payer and managed care clinical decision makers
  • Contribute to medical resources supporting payer education on DMD and safe, appropriate product use
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with payer and managed care clinical decision makers
  • Maintain relationships with medical, pharmacy, quality, and health economics/outcomes/analytics opinion leaders
  • Collaborate with the Director of National Accounts to educate payer and market access customers
  • Support internal stakeholders in interpreting scientific data for policy decision-makers
  • Prepare and deliver fair-balanced responses to clinical and scientific concerns
  • Communicate scientific information in internal meetings, advisory boards, and individual or group discussions
  • Assist in developing payer tools and dossiers demonstrating product value
  • Participate in internal training and planning of national and regional opinion leader meetings
  • Attend scientific meetings and professional conferences for Medical Affairs support and scientific exchange
  • Provide customer insights and business recommendations to GMA leadership

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS required
  • MD, PhD, or PharmD strongly preferred
  • MBA or additional degree in health economics, health outcomes, public health or health policy is a plus
  • 10+ years of related experience required
  • 3–5 years of pharmaceutical industry, managed care, or similar organizational experience required
  • Field-based medical/HEOR, value-access, or market access experience is relevant
  • Strong scientific, pharmaceutical, and health outcomes knowledge
  • Strong understanding of the current US healthcare system
  • Familiarity with and track record of complying with industry and regulatory compliance guidelines
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional listening skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Good negotiating and influencing skills
  • Willingness to travel more than 50%
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
