About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in owner’s engineer engagements for utility-scale power generation projects
  • Prepare and/or review EPC RFP packages and associated technical specifications
  • Evaluate EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractors
  • Provide technical support during EPC contract negotiations
  • Prepare or review specifications for main power transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment
  • Review and provide technical commentary on EPC contractors’ electrical engineering design drawing packages and supporting calculations
  • Work on simple- and combined-cycle electrical system design packages
  • Work on renewable low-voltage DC and AC systems
  • Work on AC collection systems for solar and batteries
  • Work on collector substations and interconnecting substation expansions
  • Work on gen-tie transmission projects
  • Interact face-to-face with power plant developers, owners, lenders, and investors during consulting engagements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of utility-scale power/storage projects
  • Experience in power projects as part of EPC team or Owner’s Engineer is a plus
  • Auxiliary power system design experience; thermal power generation, preferably gas-fired combined cycle, is a plus
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others
  • No U.S. work authorization sponsorship available
