About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work under the direction of the Mechanical Project Lead
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and design project teams
- Develop mechanical physical layout drawings in a 3-D model
- Design mechanical systems and investigate, troubleshoot, and solve mechanical design issues
- Use 3D modeling software to generate mechanical design schematics
- Lead coordination of detailed design phases for integrated mechanical design models
- Coordinate and guide designers and project team members to ensure complete and timely designs
- Independently plan and execute design deliverables, including general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings
- Conduct field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities when applicable
- Mentor less experienced drafters and designers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and one or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience
- 15+ years of detailed physical design experience developing mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports
- Proficiency with design software tools for executing 3D plant layout models
- Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points, and coordinating and developing associated deliverables
- Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process
- Experience with SmartPlant 3D software
- U.S. work authorization sponsorship is not provided
- MicroStation proficiency is valued but not required
