About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide development support, conceptual design, and owner’s engineer services to electric power project clients
  • Perform technical evaluations of electric power generation projects and facilities
  • Support project economic and cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development
  • Conduct engineering design reviews and technical due diligence
  • Support project development and conceptual design for thermal power projects
  • Travel within the United States and internationally as needed
  • Use data, automation, artificial intelligence, and other digital tools where relevant to support research, analysis, engineering, design, and workflow improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS in electrical engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background
  • 12 or more years of experience in the electric power industry
  • Experience in detailed design of medium voltage electrical systems of utility-scale thermal power projects
  • Experience with simple cycle gas turbines, combined cycle projects, coal fired generation, or reciprocating engines (RICE)
  • Experience in development support and conceptual design of thermal power projects
  • Excellent technical communication and writing skills
  • U.S. work authorization; the employer does not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S.
  • Experience in technical due diligence and owner’s engineering design reviews of thermal power projects is valued but not required
  • General understanding of power station operations and performance reviews is valued but not required
  • General understanding of process design at electric power generation facilities is valued but not required
  • Economic, cost analysis, and contract development experience is valued but not required
  • Familiarity with international design codes and standards is preferred
