About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop structural physical layout drawings in a 3-D model with multidisciplinary engineering and design project teams
Design structural supports and foundations
Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve structural design issues
Utilize 3D modeling software to generate structural design schematics
Act as structural design team lead during coordination of detailed design phases for an integrated structural design model
Coordinate and provide guidance to designers and project team members to ensure complete and timely design
Plan and execute structural design deliverables independently and as part of a design team
Accompany and assist senior designers and engineers in field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities when needed
Mentor less experienced drafters and designers

Requirements

What you’ll need

An Associate's Degree in drafting, or a high school diploma and 1 or more years drafting course work or equivalent technical experience
10 or more years of detailed design experience in the development of structural steel design and reinforced concrete design drawings
Proficiency with design software tools in executing 3D plant layout models
Experience in the review of structural layout drawings involving steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, foundations, and rebar detailing
Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power plant design process
Experience with MicroStation is valued but not required
Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design is valued but not required
Experience using AutoCad and Microstation software is valued but not required
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.; the employer does not sponsor work authorization
