About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work in a project team environment with engineers and designers on detailed electrical design and project management of high-voltage substation projects
- Participate in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve electrical engineering issues
- Prepare clear, concise technical and project reports meeting client requirements and S&L formats
- Develop professionally through peer learning and Communities of Practice
- Travel to client sites as needed
- Use appropriate technology, data, automation, artificial intelligence, and digital tools to support engineering, design, research, analysis, or workflow improvement where relevant
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor of Science Engineering degree required
- 5 or more years of experience in the design of Medium Voltage Power Systems
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget and time constraints
- Experience tracking project information such as schedules and expenditures against budgets, preparing status reports and client interface
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Experience reviewing design drawings created by others
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- U.S. work authorization required; employer does not sponsor work authorization
- Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering degree preferred
- Degree from an ABET accredited engineering program preferred
- 3 or more years of experience in the design of substations 138kV and above preferred
- Ability to prepare substation grounding, direct stroke shielding, and battery & charger sizing calculations preferred
- Physical layout and protection & controls experience preferred
- Ability to develop substation single line, relaying & metering, DC schematic, plan & section, and grounding diagrams with a Designer preferred
- Familiarity with ANSI/IEEE/NEMA standards and the National Electrical Safety Code (ANSI-C2) preferred
- PE license preferred
- AutoCAD experience preferred
