About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build strong customer relationships and grow business in the Pittsburgh, PA and New York territory
- Compile prospective customer lists from directories, industry advertisements, trade shows, websites, and other sources
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to meet regular and prospective customers
- Display and demonstrate products using samples and catalogs
- Communicate through phone, email, promotional materials, trade shows, and face-to-face meetings
- Follow up on telesales efforts and strengthen existing customer relationships
- Quote prices and provide estimated delivery dates
- Prepare business transaction reports and manage expenses using Concur Software
- Work with inside sales representatives to maintain current account activities and literature
- Record new customer data and sales data for current customers
- Attend national and regional trade shows
- Participate in correlation studies, evaluations, and conversions of the company’s blood collection system
- Log customer interactions and activities in the CRDB
- Log customer business opportunities in the SAP-C4C Sales Funnel
- Attend sales training, refresher courses, and new product introduction presentations as required
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Health Science, or a related field from a four-year college or university, with 2–3 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical or research sales required
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds for product delivery and trade show setup
- Ability to travel up to 90% throughout the assigned territory
- Ability to travel up to 50% overnight outside the territory
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Successful completion of an MVR check required
- Ability to obtain immunization records and maintain compliance with all vendor requirements
- Training on preventative measures for exposure to bloodborne pathogens
