About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee the structural, mechanical, thermal, and integration needs of every program and product
  • Own the physical architecture and satellite integration, including safe integration with launch vehicles
  • Lead design implementation and maintenance of spacecraft physical architectures, including structural platforms, harness integration, and thermal control
  • Drive innovation to reduce structural and thermal risks and control mass, center of gravity, and inertia budgets
  • Improve manufacturability based on manufacturing reports, findings, and production bottlenecks
  • Own system-level harness implementation and physical inter-assembly connectivity across satellite subsystems
  • Coordinate safe implementation and in-orbit behavior of the satellites’ thermal control state machine
  • Define and optimize subsystem interferences with system engineers
  • Define comprehensive thermal control strategies
  • Support Purchasing and Production with documentation and procurement/manufacturing specifications
  • Coordinate Level 3 support for structural, thermal, or integration issues during assembly or production
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Structure, Thermal, Optics, and Electronics engineering teams
  • Develop long-term technical solutions for thermal management, structural integrity, and harness routing
  • Coordinate strategic initiatives for safe operation with satellite launchers
  • Manage team resources and cross-platform decision-making
  • Report progress, risks, and value realization to senior leadership
  • Mentor and develop team members and foster technical excellence and continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, or similar field of study, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience as an engineer in technical environments with multidisciplinary teams in aerospace applications
  • 3+ years of mandatory experience in teamwork, designing, and executing projects while guiding a team
  • Proven experience in structural design, thermal control, and system-level integration
  • Budget and planning knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge in project execution and engineering design processes
  • Strong strategic comprehension and ability to navigate a constantly changing environment
  • Proactivity, strong negotiation skills, and ability to drive cross-functional alignment
  • Capacity to learn continuously and passion for pushing the limits of space technology
  • Advanced English proficiency levels
  • Experience with CAD/PLM tools for hardware development
  • Team building and leadership skills (optional)
  • Experience in satellite manufacturing environments (optional)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (optional)
