About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead end-to-end monthly, quarterly, and annual closing cycles under Italian and Luxembourg GAAP
- Maintain General Ledger and subledger accuracy
- Oversee bank reconciliations and Capex accounting
- Coordinate preparation of statutory financial statements across entities in Italy and Luxembourg
- Manage direct and indirect tax compliance workflows, including VAT, CIT accruals, and withholding taxes
- Partner with the group Head of Tax
- Act as the main operational interface for external auditors
- Provide reconciled local entity financial data to Group Reporting
- Support transition toward IAS/IFRS dual-reporting
- Implement standardized accounting workflows with Finance Transformation
- Enforce internal control procedures over daily entries and payment releases
- Drive process automation and efficiency improvements in ERP systems
- Lead, mentor, and organize the operational accounting team
- Set goals, balance workloads, and foster high technical standards
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least 7 years of experience in operational accounting
- Deep knowledge of local GAAP (Italian and/or Luxembourg GAAP) and IAS/IFRS framework
- Experience with full closing cycles
- General Ledger management experience
- Tax compliance experience, including VAT and local taxes
- Proven track record of managing statutory audit processes
- Experience coordinating financial data for group reporting standards
- Demonstrated experience managing, inspiring, and developing an operational accounting team
- Ability to prioritize effectively under tight deadlines
- Ability to translate group governance into daily operational routines
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or modern ERP systems
