About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide high-level legal guidance within the Fintech sector, particularly in payments, e-money, and consumer credit products
- Advise on regulatory, contractual, and product-related matters to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
- Collaborate cross-functionally to design and launch new Payments and Consumer Credit products and services, including BNPL
- Integrate basic technical and engineering considerations into legal analysis
- Identify legal and regulatory risks and propose effective mitigation strategies aligned with the organisation’s risk appetite
- Advise on financial regulatory requirements including PSD2, AML/KYC, e-money regulations, and CCD2
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership
- Provide pragmatic legal guidance and foster a culture of legal awareness across the organisation
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE
- Deep knowledge of financial and consumer credit regulations (PSD2, AML/KYC, EMRs, CCD2)
- Demonstrable track record in Fintech and Payments
- Ideally, experience in both private practice and in-house settings
- Ability to dive deep into complex legal issues, exercise strong judgment, and make sound risk-based decisions
- Clear understanding of basic technology and engineering processes in Fintech, Payments, and consumer lending
- Prior experience working with technical teams is a significant plus
- Ability to balance legal risks with commercial considerations
- English fluency, both written and spoken, is essential
- Knowledge of Italian or French is a plus
- Willingness to relocate to Luxembourg
- Willingness to work in the office three days per week (Tuesday and Thursday plus one day of choice)
