About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide high-level legal guidance within the Fintech sector, particularly payments, e-money, and consumer credit products
  • Advise on regulatory, contractual, and product-related matters to ensure compliance and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to design and launch new Payments and Consumer Credit products and services, including BNPL
  • Integrate basic technical and engineering considerations into legal analysis
  • Identify legal and regulatory risks and propose mitigation strategies aligned with the organisation's risk appetite
  • Advise on financial regulatory requirements, including PSD2, AML/KYC, e-money regulations, and CCD2
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership
  • Provide pragmatic legal guidance and foster legal awareness across the organisation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years PQE
  • Ideally 8–10 years of professional legal experience
  • Deep knowledge of financial and consumer credit regulations, including PSD2, AML/KYC, EMRs, and CCD2
  • Demonstrable track record in Fintech and Payments
  • Ideally experience in both private practice and in-house settings
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and make sound risk-based decisions
  • Understanding of basic technology and engineering processes in Fintech, Payments, and consumer lending
  • Prior experience working with technical teams is a significant plus
  • Ability to balance legal risks with commercial considerations
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
  • Knowledge of Italian or French is a plus
  • Willingness to relocate to Luxembourg
