About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support and manage certain stages of projects
  • Oversee material requisitions and takeoffs, subcontractor selection, budgeting, scheduling, organizing, record-keeping, and information flow from the Project Manager to the project team
  • Monitor overall project progress and update the Project Manager regularly on departmental progress
  • Participate in project design meetings and propose improvements
  • Assist with procurement, including material take-offs, RFQs, ordering materials, and ensuring timely onsite delivery
  • Develop technical queries, find solutions, and send internal and external RFIs to resolve engineering issues supporting construction
  • Plan and manage team goals, project schedules, and new information
  • Supervise current projects and coordinate team members to keep workflow on track
  • Prepare and review project proposals, memos, meeting minutes, and emails
  • Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures to adhere to budget
  • Perform other project-related tasks requested by direct management
  • Act as a technical resource for internal and external customers and contacts by answering inquiries, coordinating responses, and resolving problems or discrepancies through research and data collection

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Preferred to have BS/BA degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or previous experience in project coordination/management
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in industrial construction
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Team-management and leadership skills
  • Documentation management and ability to use project management tools
  • Attention to details even under pressure
  • Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of computer software with experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and other common business software
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
