About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, organize, lead, and control the execution of general construction projects in mission critical environments
- Deliver safe, high-quality projects on schedule and within budget while coordinating owners, design partners, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and internal support functions
- Assume overall responsibility for safe, profitable, well-executed mission critical construction projects in accordance with contract requirements, schedules, quality standards, and client expectations
- Review project proposals, contracts, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, schedules, budgets, and other project documents
- Develop and manage project execution plans covering staffing, procurement, subcontracting, logistics, quality, safety, schedule, cost control, and closeout
- Coordinate project activities with owners, developers, design teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and company personnel
- Manage project staff and subcontractor teams
- Monitor project costs against budgets and forecasts through labor reports, cost reports, change logs, procurement tracking, and financial reviews
- Coordinate estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost control, quality, commissioning support, and installation functions
- Lead project coordination, owner, subcontractor, schedule review, and internal project meetings
- Review and approve subcontractor selections, vendor commitments, payment applications, invoices, and project documentation
- Negotiate, prepare, issue, track, and execute change orders, claims, revisions, and budget adjustments
- Ensure timely billings, cash flow management, accounts receivable follow-up, and contract administration
- Drive project completion through schedule management, constraint tracking, material expediting, submittal management, RFI coordination, and field issue resolution
- Support commissioning, turnover, punch list completion, documentation, and owner acceptance for mission critical facilities
- Manage project closeout, including final documentation, as-built information, warranties, lessons learned, and financial reconciliation
- Enforce company policies, procedures, standards, and processes
- Participate in continuous improvement, operational excellence, and client satisfaction initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of experience managing commercial, industrial, data center, mission critical, or other complex construction projects
- Demonstrated success managing project safety, cost, schedule, quality, subcontractors, procurement, change management, and client relationships
- Experience with mission critical, data center, electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, or building systems projects preferred
- Ability to travel up to 75% based on project location and business needs
- Working knowledge of project plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, schedules, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project-related documents
- Ability to maintain accurate project documentation, including as-built drawings, logs, reports, meeting minutes, and closeout records
- Estimating, preconstruction, procurement, or cost forecasting experience preferred
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize competing demands, resolve issues, and coordinate multiple teams to achieve project objectives
- Self-motivated leader with the ability to build accountability, motivate teams, and drive results in a fast-paced construction environment
- Strong verbal, written, and client-facing communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction management, scheduling, document control, or cost management software
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
