About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, organize, and lead the execution of electrical substation projects to meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives
- Lead the on-site project team in constructing a safe, quality, and profitable project completed timely
- Review and understand project proposals and pertinent documents
- Determine means and methods, including personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, to meet project objectives
- Represent the Company in daily interfaces with the project owner
- Establish and maintain safety as the highest priority
- Manage project field staff, including support staff, superintendents, project general foremen, and assistants
- Keep the Company project manager accurately and fully informed of project status, progress, budget, and forecasting
- Organize, conduct, and represent the Company at regular project coordination meetings
- Review and approve subcontractor invoices, vendor payment applications, and miscellaneous invoices
- Collaborate with the Company project manager to detect scope changes and develop and execute change orders
- Ensure timely and accurate timesheets for all field personnel on site
- Enforce and adhere to applicable policies and processes
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10+ years of relevant construction experience
- 5+ years of experience managing electrical substation projects
- Working knowledge of project plans, specifications, Owner Contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals, and other project-related documents
- Knowledge of all disciplines involved in the construction and commissioning of electrical substations
- Ability to coordinate numerous activities among project stakeholders, including the project owner, Company project manager, Company workforce, subcontractor teams, and vendors
- Self-motivated with skills to motivate others
- Strong commitment to safety and leading by example
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working on a computer
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
