About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Initiate and manage execution of Quality Management Systems on assigned projects
- Interpret quality requirements, construction codes, specifications, and standards
- Provide technical guidance for inspection, testing, and quality service activities
- Supervise Quality Personnel conducting audits, inspections, surveillance, and testing
- Coordinate with external agencies for qualifying procedures and welder certifications
- Staff project jobsites with competent Quality personnel in coordination with Human Resources
- Train site personnel on construction and quality control programs
- Provide technical support for project site challenges
- Assist with NDE company selection, budgeting, and schedules
- Work with Authorized Inspectors on local, state, and federal code work
- Complete quality and code-related reports and documentation
- Establish and maintain progress tracking for QC turnover packages
- Function as internal auditor/lead auditor to validate project Quality Management System conformance
- Manage Quality team member performance
- Monitor new technological advancements and NDE testing methods
- Work with Engineering to develop welding processes and procedures compliant with applicable codes
- Evaluate new welding options for improved quality and productivity
- Support coordination between Quality, Safety, Production, Operations, and QAQC teams
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualification in Quality Management Systems or equivalent
- Minimum of five (5) years of previous experience in a similar role in the Heavy Industrial Oil and Gas industry
- Strong computer literacy competencies
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification, previous or current; proof required
- Midstream, Petrochemical, Energy Industry EPC experience required
- Fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to schedule multiple activities
- Knowledge and use of computers and software packages
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead, manage and participate in project teams
- Strong problem-solving skills
- High level of commitment to project industrial safety
- Ability to work in remote locations as required
- Working knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI, ACI, AWS, ASTM, and other codes and standards
- Must be able to drive long distances
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk jobsites and laydown yards
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
