About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide on-site technical and administrative management for Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) phases on data center projects
  • Lead the development and management of an E&I team during the data center construction phase
  • Assume responsibility for a profitable, well-constructed, safe, and timely project
  • Review project proposals and pertinent documents with the project team and Director of Operations
  • Determine cost-effective construction methods and use of personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Review and approve subcontractor selections and invoicing
  • Coordinate construction activities with the owner, subcontractors, and company personnel
  • Manage project staff, including support staff, superintendents, project general foremen, and assistants
  • Promote, enforce, and establish safety as a priority
  • Monitor project costs against budgets through weekly labor and monthly budget reports
  • Coordinate budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost, and construction functions
  • Maintain relationships with owners, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Organize and represent the company at project coordination meetings
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor payment applications and miscellaneous invoices
  • Negotiate, prepare, issue, and execute change orders and budget revisions
  • Ensure timely and accurate billings and accounts receivable
  • Ensure project completion through scheduling, material delivery expediting, and management of material and document submittals and approvals
  • Lead regularly scheduled project staff meetings
  • Manage the closeout process
  • Adhere to company policies and processes
  • Participate in internal teams focused on continuous business improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 plus years of experience managing the E&I phase of large data center construction projects
  • Demonstrated success in management of large construction projects
  • Working knowledge of project plans, specifications, Owner Contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals, and other project-related documents
  • Ability to maintain a complete and accurate set of as-built drawings
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people
  • Self-motivated with skills to motivate others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods while working on a computer
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
