About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assume overall responsibility for a profitable, well-constructed, safe, and timely completed project
  • Analyze and improve operational processes, quality, productivity, and efficiency
  • Monitor daily activity in support of projects
  • Ensure resources meet on-site project needs in collaboration with field supervision, estimating, procurement, logistics, contracts management, accounting, and human resources
  • Review project proposals and pertinent documents with the project team and Director of Operations
  • Determine cost-effective construction methods and use of personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Review and approve subcontractor selections, invoicing, vendor payment applications, and miscellaneous invoices
  • Coordinate construction activities with owners, subcontractors, and Company personnel
  • Promote, enforce, and establish safety as a priority
  • Manage project staff, including support staff, superintendents, project general foremen, and assistants
  • Report project costs against budgets through weekly labor and monthly budget reports
  • Coordinate budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost, and construction functions
  • Maintain relationships with owners, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Organize and represent the company at project coordination meetings
  • Negotiate, prepare, issue, and execute change orders and budget revisions
  • Ensure timely and accurate billings and accounts receivable
  • Ensure timely project completion through scheduling, material-delivery expediting, and management of material and document submittals/approvals
  • Lead and participate in project staff meetings
  • Manage the closeout process
  • Adhere to company policies and processes
  • Participate in internal teams focused on continuous business improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3 plus years’ experience managing large Industrial instrument and electrical construction projects
  • Demonstrated success in management of construction projects
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Estimating experience, a plus
  • Possess working knowledge of project plans, specifications, Owner Contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals, and other project-related documents
  • Maintain a complete and accurate set of as-built drawings
  • Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people
  • Self-motivated with skills to motivate others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen
