About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control assigned construction projects to meet cost, quality, resource usage, and safety objectives
  • Assume overall responsibility for profitable, well-constructed, safe, and timely project completion
  • Review project proposals and pertinent documents with the project team and Director of Operations
  • Determine cost-effective construction methods and use of personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Review and approve subcontractor selections, invoicing, and payment applications
  • Coordinate construction activities with owners, subcontractors, and Company personnel
  • Promote, enforce, and establish safety as a priority
  • Manage project staff, including support staff, superintendents, project general foremen, and assistants
  • Monitor project costs against budgets through weekly labor and monthly budget reports
  • Coordinate budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost, and construction functions
  • Maintain working relationships with owners, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Organize and represent the company at project coordination meetings
  • Negotiate, prepare, issue, and execute change orders and budget revisions
  • Ensure timely and accurate billings and accounts receivable
  • Ensure timely project completion through scheduling, material delivery expediting, and management of submittals and approvals
  • Lead and participate in project staff meetings
  • Manage the project closeout process
  • Enforce and adhere to applicable company policies and processes
  • Participate in internal teams focused on continuous business improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 to 10 years’ experience managing large industrial mechanical, piping, structural, or civil construction projects
  • Minimum 5 years of oil and gas industry experience, including 3 years in project management
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Construction or General Business degree preferred
  • Estimating experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of project plans, specifications, owner contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals, and project-related documents
  • Ability to maintain a complete and accurate set of as-built drawings
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups
  • Self-motivated with skills to motivate others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project controls skills, including cost forecasting, progress tracking, and scheduling
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or P6
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background check and drug screen
