About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Site Quality Manager and Project Manager
  • Determine the conformance of materials, equipment, and installations to specifications
  • Inspect construction activities on a 12-mile pipeline project, including excavations, concrete, rebar, PV installation, underground utilities, welding, piping, valves, and other equipment
  • Promote and comply with Company safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct daily quality control activities and accurately record QC data
  • Monitor and record work according to the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP)
  • Perform pre-construction quality control inspections to prevent deficiencies
  • Detect and address deficiencies in a timely and effective manner
  • Inspect work and establish punch lists
  • Ensure quality task schedules are met to support the project schedule
  • Work with the Client, field quality staff, field supervision, craft personnel, and other team members to ensure QA/QC requirements are followed
  • Generate daily and weekly reports and notify management of significant problems
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection records for permanent hard-copy and electronic files
  • Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment
  • Maintain a professional appearance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Construction Trades
  • Inspection related certifications, CWI required
  • Working knowledge of the code(s) of construction being used for the project
  • Ability to use inspection tools (Gal-Gauge, Pick Gauge, Hi-Lo gauge, Filler Gauge, and similar)
  • Ability to read/interpret ISO and P&IDs and red-line ISO
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures
  • Exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial, and welding activities
  • Ability to independently perform piping system walkdown, structural walkdown, and civil inspections
  • Ability to write daily reports and document project activities
  • Ability to collect and record field data in accordance with corporate Quality Control procedures
  • Ability to implement the quality control program for assigned project tasks
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the property and laydown yards, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
