About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Site Quality Manager and Project Manager
  • Determine conformance of materials, equipment, and installation with specifications
  • Inspect construction activities on a 12-mile pipeline project, including excavations, concrete, rebar, PV installation, underground utilities, welding, piping, valves, and other equipment
  • Generate daily and weekly reports of inspection findings
  • Notify management of significant problems
  • Complete documentation confirming satisfactory inspection or test completion
  • Promote and comply with Company safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor and record work according to the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP)
  • Perform pre-construction quality control inspections and prevent deficiencies
  • Detect and address deficiencies promptly
  • Inspect work and establish punch lists
  • Ensure quality task schedules support the project schedule
  • Work with the Client and field quality staff as their field representative
  • Interface with field supervision and interact with craft personnel and other team members
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection records for permanent hard-copy and electronic files
  • Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the Construction Trades
  • Inspection related certifications; CWI required
  • Working knowledge of the code(s) of construction used for the project
  • Ability to use inspection tools, including Gal-Gauge, Pick Gauge, Hi-Lo gauge, and Filler Gauge
  • Ability to read and interpret ISO, P&ID’s, and red-line ISO
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures
  • Exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial, and welding activities
  • Ability to independently perform piping system walkdowns, structural walkdowns, and civil inspections
  • Ability to write daily reports and document project activities
  • Ability to collect and record field data in accordance with corporate Quality Control procedures
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the property and laydown yards, and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
