About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Report to the Site Quality Manager and Project Manager
  • Determine the degree of conformance of materials, equipment, and installations to specifications
  • Inspect various project activities on a 12-mile pipeline project, including excavations, concrete, rebar, PV installation, underground utilities, welding, piping, valves, and other equipment
  • Promote and comply with all Company safety policies and procedures
  • Apply knowledge of the construction codes used for the project
  • Conduct daily activities in an organized manner and accurately record QC data
  • Monitor and record work according to the Quality Inspection Test Plan (QITP)
  • Perform pre-construction quality control inspections and prevent deficiencies
  • Detect and address deficiencies in a timely and effective manner
  • Inspect work and establish punch lists
  • Ensure daily quality task schedules are met to support the project schedule
  • Work with the Client and field quality staff as their field representative to ensure QA/QC requirements are understood and followed
  • Interface with field supervision and collaborate with craft personnel and other team members
  • Maintain complete and accurate inspection records for permanent hard-copy and electronic files
  • Determine the calibration status of measuring and test equipment
  • Write daily and weekly reports and notify management of significant problems
  • Complete documentation attesting to satisfactory completion of inspection or test activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Graduate or equivalent (GED) plus 3-5 years’ experience in the Construction Trades
  • Inspection related certifications, CWI required
  • Must be able to use inspection tools (example: Gal-Gauge, Pick Gauge, Hi-Lo gauge, Filler Gauge, and so-forth)
  • Must be able to read/interpret ISO, P&ID’s and able to Red-Line ISO
  • Read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings and technical procedures
  • Required exposure to civil, electrical, mechanical, pipeline/oil/gas, industrial and welding activities
  • Ability to independently perform Piping system walkdown, structural walkdown, and Civil inspections
  • Write daily reports and document project activities
  • Effectively collect and record field data to ensure activities are conforming to corporate Quality Control procedures
  • Ensure the effective implementation of the quality control program for assigned project tasks
  • Ability to solve problems individually and in a team setting
  • Demonstrates good organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Must be a self-starter, be organized and have good interpersonal skills
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
