About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control execution of large-scale multi-discipline construction projects
  • Assume responsibility for profitable, well-constructed, safe, and timely project completion
  • Review project proposals and documents with the project team and Project Director
  • Determine cost-effective construction methods and manage personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with internal departments, owners, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and Company personnel
  • Review and approve subcontractor selections, payment applications, invoicing, and miscellaneous invoices
  • Promote, enforce, and establish safety as a priority
  • Manage project staff and third-party engineering support
  • Monitor project costs against budgets through weekly labor and monthly budget reports
  • Direct estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost, and construction functions
  • Manage project controls, including planning, cost management, estimating, takeoffs, progress tracking, reporting, scheduling, and change/risk management
  • Organize and represent the company at project coordination meetings
  • Negotiate, prepare, issue, and execute change orders and budget revisions
  • Ensure timely and accurate billings and accounts receivable
  • Ensure timely project completion through scheduling, material expediting, and submittal/approval management
  • Lead project staff meetings
  • Manage project closeout
  • Adhere to company policies and processes
  • Participate in internal continuous-improvement teams
  • Maintain customer and landowner relationships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15 to 20 years’ experience managing infrastructure related construction projects
  • Minimum 5 years of large project >$500MM Project Management Experience
  • Construction or Engineering Degree Required
  • Engineering experience preferred
  • Up to 75% travel may be required
  • Understanding of project plans, specifications, drawings, P6 schedules, contracts, subcontract management, purchase orders, document control, submittals, and project management activities
  • Ability to manage and motivate a team of professionals across multiple disciplines
  • Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and teams
  • Self-motivated with skills to motivate others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to walk the property and laydown yards
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds
