About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create structural computations and design deliverables for various structures for new construction and modification purposes
  • Provide structural engineering evaluations of new designs and field construction for safety basis and applicable building code adequacy
  • Provide civil/structural design input to new projects and plant modifications
  • Review and approve relevant procedures
  • Perform self-assessments of existing programs and procedures related to Structural Engineering roles and responsibilities
  • Review and approve procurement specifications
  • Review supplier submittals and documents
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's Degree in Civil Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university; or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Structural Engineering from an accredited college or university with years of relevant professional engineering experience
  • Professional Engineers (PE) License preferred
  • Knowledge of advanced engineering principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of conventional technology in the specialized field, computer applications, Industry Codes and Standards, design control, and Department of Energy Requirements
  • Working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS or similar computer codes
  • Working knowledge of National Codes and Standards including IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, ACI (318 & 349) and NFPA-13
  • Working knowledge of Intergraph Microstation
  • Knowledge of Concrete Material Behavior, codes and Mix designs
  • Experience with engineered procurement of structural components
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a changing environment of multiple demands and shifting directions and priorities
  • Good organizational and communication skills; ability to express ideas concisely and clearly, verbally and in writing
  • Ability to perform walkdowns
