About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Draft and/or revise technical regulatory documents similar to CERCLA-type regulatory documents
  • Ensure documents are developed, reviewed, approved, and distributed to appropriate personnel
  • Implement and integrate applicable regulatory guidance, data analysis, protocols, and program requirements into documents
  • Prepare, route, and track documents through all stages of the review cycle
  • Ensure project team, DOE, and management review comments are properly dispositioned and incorporated as applicable
  • Participate in comment resolution meetings with DOE, NRC, EPA, and SCDES
  • Prepare presentation material and participate in meetings with DOE, NRC, EPA, and SCDES
  • Contribute to project and organizational objectives as a team member demonstrating long-term compliance of disposal and closure actions
  • Provide technical analysis and interpretation of environmental and laboratory data
  • Provide general technical support for tank closure and salt waste disposal activities and projects
  • Develop and deliver presentations to management, DOE, and environmental regulatory agencies
  • Interface with regulatory stakeholders, facility engineering and operations, and DOE customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable science from an accredited university
  • Experience in technical writing
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving
  • Ability to perform and interpret data analysis
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience in DOE programs and regulatory agency interaction
