About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Plan, develop, and execute testing activities for systems and equipment
- Ensure systems and equipment perform safely, reliably, and in compliance with regulatory and NQA-1 requirements
- Analyze test results and resolve technical issues
- Support risk assessments, configuration management, verification, and validation efforts
- Contribute to startup and commissioning programs
- Develop test plans, TACs, GTDs, BODs, procedures, and testing schedules, depending on level
- Execute component, system, startup, commissioning, verification, and validation tests
- Collect, evaluate, and document test data and identify deficiencies
- Support hazard reviews, MSAs, FSAs, PHAs, audits, assessments, and pre-job briefings
- Calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation
- Coordinate vendor testing and acceptance activities
- Support procedure updates, project schedules, operations and maintenance training, and continuous improvement
- Lead small testing teams and manage testing scope for assigned projects at the Test Engineer II level
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or high school diploma, with relevant work experience
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a technical field
- Preferred: Level I or II test engineer certification
- Ability to walk down and perform tests on systems in the field
- Knowledge of facility systems, testing principles and methods, instrumentation, work control processes, NQA-1, NRC, DOE, and OSHA requirements, depending on level
- Ability to develop or assist with test plans, schedules, procedures, and testing documentation, depending on level
- Ability to collect, evaluate, and record test data
- Ability to apply lockout/tagout, work control, quality documentation, configuration control, and NQA-1 requirements
- Ability to perform verification, validation, startup, commissioning, vendor, and calibration testing, depending on level
- Ability to investigate and resolve technical issues and test discrepancies, depending on level
