About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop strategies to engage and retain supporters and manage the direct-response marketing retention and fundraising program, primarily through direct mail
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver a cohesive supporter experience across channels
- Maximize mission-support revenue and deliver short-term KPIs and long-term retention and lifetime-value metrics
- Develop and oversee mass-market supporter retention and fundraising direct-marketing strategies
- Increase donor retention, lifetime value, mid-level and legacy progression, and long-term supporter engagement
- Manage creative agency, production, and data-processing partner relationships and performance
- Manage annual and campaign-level plans, including house-file mailings, welcome journeys, sustainer conversion, reactivation, cultivation, emergency-response fundraising, and donor-development programs
- Coordinate schedules with printers, creative agencies, data processors, and internal teams
- Create and implement campaign segmentation and testing strategies
- Represent direct-mail fundraising in integrated campaign planning and cross-functional initiatives
- Lead day-to-day execution of direct-response marketing campaigns
- Streamline processes and improve operational effectiveness
- Track creative updates and changes between Save the Children and external vendors
- Lead legal approvals for projects, campaigns, and materials
- Manage campaign matrices, appeals, and data requests for IT
- Manage lettershop instructions and ensure accurate data processing and campaign scheduling
- Create and monitor budgets and spending
- Maintain reports, dashboards, and benchmark reports on key metrics
- Author the monthly direct-mail channel report covering acquisition and retention performance
- Advise senior leadership and extended teams on campaign strategy and supporter cultivation
- Complete ad-hoc assignments
- Supervise the Lead Associate, Sustainer Experience & Retention
- Train, develop, coach, lead, and supervise staff while fostering diversity, inclusion, and belonging
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated direct mail experience
- Demonstrated fundraising experience
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, and motivation skills
- Ability to provide advice, guidance, and management of several campaigns and programs
- Ability to successfully deliver work under deadlines and competing priorities
- Proven organizational and time management skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Advanced Adobe skills
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment
- Professional proficiency in the MS Office suite
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, internally and externally
- Previous non-profit experience preferred
- Experience with omni-channel campaign planning preferred
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred
