About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the end-to-end gifts-in-kind accounting process for a specified portfolio
  • Review gifts-in-kind documentation, resolve discrepancies, and compile audit-ready supporting packages
  • Enter gifts-in-kind revenue, inventory, and expense transactions into BBEC and Agresso
  • Coordinate with SCUS Accounting on monthly close and year-end processing
  • Use TrackVia to manage shipment and receipt records, item-level data, supporting documents, and reports
  • Monitor the gifts-in-kind flow from donor pledge through receipt, valuation, and expense
  • Support emergency shipment tracking and inventory, revenue, and expense reconciliation
  • Assist budget holders with annual planning and cost-center budgeting
  • Support Humanitarian Response budget preparation, financial guidance, and risk identification
  • Analyze financial data and prepare monthly performance reports, forecasts, budget-versus-actual analyses, projections, and trend reports
  • Conduct budget reviews, ad hoc analyses, cost-model updates, and cash-account reconciliations
  • Ensure proper invoicing and transfer of funds for SCI and Member2Member funding
  • Identify funding gaps and provide guidance to fundraising teams
  • Prepare and review donor budget proposals and financial reports
  • Ensure donor compliance, timely reporting, documentation in AMS, and award closeout
  • Manage subaward tracking, financial guidance, trainings, report reviews, payments, risk assessments, pre-award surveys, and monitoring
  • Manage International Member2Member awards as needed
  • Deploy remotely or in person to support designated Save the Children US emergency responses or provide finance and operations backstop support
  • Deploy for 3 to 6 weeks at a time during U.S. emergency responses
  • Train program staff and provide technical assistance during responses
  • Support the GIK warehouse with sorting and inventorying emergency donations when necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to apply creative ideas for data compilations
  • Ability to support multiple stakeholders with sound financial data and guidance
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff at various levels
  • Ability to uphold financial policies and procedures
  • In-depth understanding and problem-solving approach to financial management related to complex, multifunctional budgets
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, internally and externally
  • Ability to prioritize, work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks within tight deadlines
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Experience working in complex inventory management software; TrackVia is a plus
  • Experience managing complex financial portfolios and providing time-sensitive ad-hoc reporting
  • Experience with accounting and grants management software; Salesforce, AMS, or Agresso is a plus
