About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, develop, optimize, organize, direct, manage, evaluate and remain accountable for the organization's supply chain processes
  • Plan, organize, direct, manage and evaluate supply chain personnel, operations and budget
  • Lead customer service, purchasing, inventory control, forecasting, warehousing, transportation and shipping
  • Direct hiring, training, supervision, mentoring and performance evaluations of supply chain employees
  • Coordinate, assign, monitor and review supply chain work
  • Understand customer needs and maintain positive relationships with key customer personnel
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Collaborate with employees, departments, senior management and decision makers
  • Develop annual plans and contribute to supply chain strategy
  • Execute procurement functions, including contract management, sourcing strategies, agreement negotiation and contract management
  • Track shipments and stock levels using Syspro
  • Implement transaction management best practices
  • Monitor corporate governance and regulatory compliance
  • Identify and manage supply chain risk
  • Address tactical and strategic supply chain issues
  • Apply advances in supply chain technology to improve processes
  • Establish KPIs, monitor performance and improve results against goals
  • Implement systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning and other optimizations
  • Develop profit improvement and change management plans
  • Resolve work-related problems and prepare progress and other reports
  • Communicate values and business goals to internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage contractor and subcontractor activities
  • Identify potential supply chain improvement projects and commission selected projects
  • Develop and deliver oral presentations
  • Manage or execute product life cycle/range management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Grade 12
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Management
  • 3–5 years experience as a Supply Chain Manager
  • Knowledge of budgeting principles
  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a successful sales focused team
  • Finance and business acumen
  • Clear strategic mindset with analytical focus
  • Proven leadership skills at high level
