About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct individual, small group, and/or remote tutoring sessions
  • Assess, assist, and encourage students during tutoring sessions
  • Monitor tutor appointment schedules
  • Assist students with making appointments
  • Assist in developing workshops and exam reviews
  • Facilitate group study sessions, workshops, and exam reviews
  • Participate in tutor training sessions and department meetings
  • Represent the Academic Success Center during classroom visitations, orientations, and campus-wide events
  • Perform clerical duties and other related duties as assigned
  • Help students understand course concepts, become independent learners, and succeed in and out of the classroom
  • Share learning, studying, and test-taking strategies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent accredited GED
  • Tutoring experience in subject area strongly preferred
  • Advanced levels and proficiency in the subject areas to be tutored
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Must be available to work a minimum of 10-hours weekly
  • Completed online employment application and resume required
  • Successful completion of required background screening
  • Must complete an I-9 and provide documentation of identity for employment purposes
  • Applicants claiming preference must provide required documentation at the time of application
