About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Undertake research, secondary data collection and referencing
  • Input into the development of model specifications
  • Build cost-effectiveness and budget impact models in Microsoft Excel
  • Validate models
  • Undertake basic statistical analysis
  • Write technical reports
  • Communicate with and present to clients
  • Work collaboratively with senior health economics team members, project managers, value communication, systematic review, and statistics teams
  • Contribute to evidence-based solutions for clients
  • Support business development and internal process needs through non-project work
  • Potentially undertake project management and line management with training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • Ability to perform basic statistical analyses, ideally in STATA
  • Ability to input on appropriate model methods, data, and assumptions
  • Ability to identify appropriate UK cost data
  • Ability to determine, run, and report model analyses
  • Ability to draft a model specification with some direction
  • Ability to write a technical report and user guide
  • At least an MSc in Health Economics, Maths, Operational Research or equivalent
  • Cost-effectiveness and budget impact model building experience preferred
  • Experience developing economic evaluations for institutes such as NICE and the SMC preferred
  • Familiarity with NICE and SMC processes and methodological preferences preferred
  • Recently qualified post-graduates may apply
