About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Undertake research, data collection, and referencing, including providing direction and quality control
  • Lead development of model specifications and provide technical and strategic direction and quality control
  • Lead and quality-control model development, proposing solutions to challenges
  • Validate models
  • Advise, plan, and perform statistical analyses with input from a Statistician
  • Lead technical reporting and provide technical advice and quality control
  • Lead client communication and presentations
  • Manage projects of any complexity, prepare and raise invoices, and deliver projects within budget
  • Prepare blogs and deliver webinars occasionally
  • Potentially line-manage one direct report and contribute to recruitment
  • Identify follow-on project opportunities, contribute to and write proposals, and lead some pitch presentations
  • Support technical leads on major projects such as NICE submissions
  • Instruct and mentor junior colleagues
  • Develop de novo or adapt existing cost-effectiveness and budget impact models for health technology assessments

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High-level of numeracy
  • Highly advanced Excel skills
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to timelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Technical expertise in cost-effectiveness modelling
  • Knowledge of UK HTA process, requirements, and preferences
  • Ability to communicate with authority and advise clients
  • Undergraduate degree ideally in a numerical subject
  • MSc in Health Economics, Maths, Operational Research or similar
  • Extensive experience developing de novo model specifications, economic models, technical reports, and economic sections of HTA submissions (essential)
  • Client communication and presentation experience (essential)
  • Experience delivering technical advice to clients (essential)
  • Project management experience (essential)
  • Experience mentoring junior staff on projects (desirable)
