About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support early-stage development of multiple wind, solar, and battery storage projects
  • Assess project viability using analytical tools, market research, and an internal GIS prospecting tool
  • Coordinate project viability tracking, timelines, and documentation
  • Present project summaries and coordinate with subject matter experts through handoff to regional development teams
  • Support site diligence, landowner engagement, lease negotiations, and community engagement
  • Gather inputs for project screening and initial financial models
  • Provide analytical support for negotiations and lead negotiations for select commercial matters
  • Interface with landowners, community members, and community leaders
  • Identify landowners, cultivate relationships, and negotiate site control agreements
  • Travel to prospective and active project sites to assess opportunities and acquire land rights
  • Conduct GIS analysis to identify and diligence opportunities and constraints
  • Analyze permitting and tax requirements and identify associated risks and resolutions
  • Coordinate studies assessing project viability and conduct competitive analysis
  • Support interconnection and early-stage engineering design processes
  • Research site and system design alternatives with internal teams
  • Coordinate data and documentation management during project handoff
  • Analyze information and solicit cross-functional input to inform team strategy
  • Deliver annual goals and model Scout’s mission and values

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college program
  • 1-5+ years of wind, solar, and/or energy storage development experience
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and meet deadlines
  • Excitement and enthusiasm to learn how to become a Project Developer
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, ArcGIS, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. indefinitely without sponsorship
  • Willingness and availability to travel significantly as needed (25%-60%)
  • Ability to leverage expertise from colleagues across different reporting lines
  • Ability to multitask and arbitrate between conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work proactively and productively in a collaborative team environment without direct supervision
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle information with discretion
