About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise and actively participate in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of underground heavy-duty mining equipment
- Plan and assign daily work
- Coordinate manpower
- Ensure required tools, parts, and equipment are available
- Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to mechanics, particularly for complex equipment issues and breakdowns
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and priority repairs to minimize downtime and maintain equipment availability
- Monitor work progress, equipment status, and outstanding repairs
- Communicate priorities with operations and management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Trade Certification
- Completion of Common Core for First Line Supervisor
- Three (3) years’ experience in a supervisory role relating to maintenance and repairs of underground mining equipment
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Positive attitude with the ability to lead a team
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
- Employer sponsorship or work permit support is not available
- Must be physically and mentally fit for work
- Must follow safety procedures and Manitoba Regulation 212/2011 – Operation of Mines Regulation
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
