About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design and implement backend systems and scalable microservices supporting regulatory compliance and legal process automation
Work with large datasets and oversee complex data pipelines while ensuring data integrity across critical financial systems
Lead engineering modernization efforts, including legacy-code refactoring and migration to modern distributed architecture
Replace manual operations with event-driven automation using Kafka
Maintain integrations with third-party providers including Verdata and Salesforce
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into technical solutions
Own the full lifecycle of critical systems, including architectural modernization and day-to-day production stability
Optimize complex logic and alerts and ensure robust production operation at scale

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience in Software Development (Backend focused)
Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin in production environments
Experience building scalable APIs
Experience working with microservices
Understanding of distributed systems
Experience with AWS and cloud-based infrastructure
Excellent problem-solving and system design skills
B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
Python
Experience with Snowflake, Spark, or DBT
Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and Kafka
Background in Fintech, Banking, or regulatory environments
Experience with AI development tools like Cursor and Claude Code
