About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research, design, develop, and deploy AI/ML models, LLM-based solutions, and agentic workflows for clinical trial data
  • Automate ingestion, processing, analysis, interpretation, correlation, and visualization of structured and unstructured clinical data
  • Develop NLP pipelines and systems to extract, summarize, and derive insights from clinical datasets
  • Build and orchestrate agent-based workflows supporting multi-step reasoning, task execution, and enterprise system/API integration
  • Maintain and enhance existing AI/ML models, pipelines, analytics solutions, and applications
  • Develop and implement improved tools, frameworks, and processes for AI and software development
  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional stakeholders to design AI-driven solutions and understand clinical workflows
  • Follow best practices for documentation, coding, testing, and deployment of AI-enabled applications
  • Develop and contribute to standard operating procedures for AI, agentic workflows, and software development in clinical trial environments
  • Prototype new AI capabilities, tools, and technologies through proofs of concept and demonstrations
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers and data scientists
  • Assist with research and design of new models, architectures, and frameworks
  • Deliver technical design and software documentation
  • Contribute to standards and best practices
  • Maintain compliance with SDC business and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other related duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Expert in Python and AI/ML libraries, including frameworks supporting NLP and LLM integration
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML algorithms and techniques, including natural language processing, classification, clustering, anomaly detection, and information retrieval
  • Experience developing and deploying LLM-based applications, agentic workflows, and AI-powered systems in production environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure ecosystem, including Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, and Azure Machine Learning
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and working with large-scale structured and unstructured datasets
  • Experience with software development lifecycle, including CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Ability to translate business and clinical requirements into clear technical solutions
  • Effective written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to identify issues, define problems, and implement effective solutions
  • Ability to communicate complex AI and technical concepts clearly, concisely, and effectively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Experience applying AI/ML, NLP, or LLM-based solutions within healthcare, life sciences, or clinical research environments
  • Familiarity with clinical data standards, including CDISC (SDTM, ADaM), and other regulatory data models
  • Exposure to regulated environments, including GxP, FDA compliance, or similar frameworks
  • Understanding of clinical trial processes, data collection methods, and operational workflows
  • Experience with clinical datasets, patient data, or safety/efficacy analysis
  • Familiarity with data governance, validation, and audit requirements within regulated industries
  • Experience collaborating with clinical, regulatory, and data management stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in software engineering, application development, or data science
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in AI/ML, NLP, or large language model solutions
  • Experience with structured SDLC frameworks and Agile methodologies
