About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage orthopedic conditions affecting bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons
  • Perform orthopedic surgical procedures appropriate to the candidate’s training and clinical expertise
  • Manage trauma cases, fractures, joint disorders, and other musculoskeletal injuries
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, including surgical and non-surgical management
  • Provide preoperative assessments, postoperative care, and follow-up consultations
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate medical records and comply with hospital clinical governance and patient safety standards
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, and continuous quality improvement activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Recognized medical degree (MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience working at Consultant level in Orthopedic Surgery
  • Current or eligible professional registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), where applicable to the UK qualification pathway
  • Relevant clinical experience in orthopedic surgery, including operative and non-operative patient management
  • Strong diagnostic, surgical decision-making, and communication skills
  • Commitment to evidence-based medicine, patient safety, and multidisciplinary care
