About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collect accurate patient information and coordinate patient encounters.
  • Provide patient support services to ensure positive, professional, and efficient patient and family encounters.
  • Register patients and schedule appointments in Cadence and/or OpTime.
  • Coordinate care with other services and minimize access delays.
  • Process incoming referrals.
  • Triage patient telephone calls to appropriate resources.
  • Send MyChart invitations.
  • Collect and/or update demographic and financial information for optimal reimbursement.
  • Check in patients.
  • Collect copays and outstanding balances.
  • Inform of and collect signed consent for care.
  • Maintain standards for infection prevention.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and hospital goal work.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and families.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards and comply with Patient Access Coordinator standard work.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years customer service and/or administrative support experience, and/or healthcare experience with/without scheduling and registration experience.
  • Must complete Epic Training and obtain a passing score on EUPA test within two (2) weeks of start date
  • Preferred: Associate’s Degree or at least two (2) years of college coursework in health care or related field.
  • Preferred: Minimum of three (3) years experience working in a health care setting or related field.
  • Preferred: Significant experience working with the general public in a health care/customer service environment.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with other cultures/bilingual skills.
  • Technology, connectivity, confidentiality, and workspace requirements are governed by applicable organizational remote work standards.
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8-5.
