About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Float to Main Hospital, North Clinic in Everett, South Clinic in Federal Way, and one other location TBD
  • Provide basic patient care and advanced life support measures to stabilize critically ill or injured patients before and during transport
  • Demonstrate neonatal and pediatric critical care nursing proficiency
  • Apply adaptations necessary for patient management in an ambulance or aircraft and during transit
  • Follow ambulance and aircraft operating procedures and safety practices
  • Incorporate strategic initiatives such as Continuous Improvement and Innovation (CII) and ART into daily work
  • Serve as team lead within the mobile transport team
  • Provide supervision and delegation to Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, or Emergency Medical Technicians as required
  • Be available for call
  • Work from Main Campus or an off-campus base determined by volume and efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years recent Critical Care Transport, pediatric critical care (PICU, CICU or other relevant unit), Emergency Department (ED) or neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) experience, at a 6.FTE or greater
  • Current Washington State RN License
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); those without ACLS must obtain it during orientation, no later than three months from the start date
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers required prior to start date, or PEARS and/or PALS accepted in lieu of BLS
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); those without PALS must obtain it during orientation, no later than three months from the start date
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP); those without NRP must obtain it during orientation, no later than six months from the start date
  • Completion of an approved trauma course no later than six months from the start date
  • Diploma or transcript of highest academic achievement on record with Human Resources upon hire for RNs performing moderately complex point of care testing
  • Personnel trained outside the U.S. must provide documented equivalency evaluation by a foreign credentialing agency
  • Acceptable government documents allowing travel to and from the US or WA Enhanced ID are a prerequisite to hiring
  • Must maintain current documentation at all times and have documents available during all shifts and on all transports
