About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead and develop a team of Data Platform and AI Engineers
Drive delivery of platform, data, and AI initiatives while managing priorities, risks, dependencies, and resource allocation
Oversee platform operations, production support, incident response, and service reliability
Manage engineering capacity planning, staffing strategies, and workforce development
Manage relationships with engineering vendors, including phData
Lead platform upgrades, modernization, lifecycle management, and production readiness activities
Establish and enforce engineering standards, development practices, operational procedures, and quality expectations
Partner with Architecture, Product, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions
Drive technical debt reduction and platform health improvements
Provide technical leadership and remove impediments to technology delivery

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
7+ years of experience in software, data, platform, cloud, or AI engineering
3+ years of people leadership experience managing technical teams
Experience leading delivery and operational support for enterprise technology platforms
Strong understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps, automation, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices
Experience managing vendors, consulting partners, and outsourced engineering teams
Proven ability to balance delivery commitments, operational excellence, and talent development
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Role requires working in-office a minimum of 3 days per week
Must be within a commutable distance of 90 minutes to Securian offices
