About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Accomplish audits and investigations supporting 14 CFR Title 14, Part 121.373 and applicable United and regulatory requirements
  • Perform on-site and external compliance audits, approvals, and surveillance activities within Technical Operations and external support agencies
  • Conduct risk assessments and generate audit reports
  • Monitor corrective actions and perform follow-up to ensure program compliance and acceptable quality levels
  • Conduct assessments for operational compliance and performance across engineering, inspection, maintenance, aircraft records, part procurement and manufacturing, fueling, and other technical programs
  • Perform surveillance requirements of the Continuing Analysis and Surveillance System
  • Conduct investigations through interviews, data analysis, evidence collection, and factual documentation
  • Document and report findings and ensure corrective actions are initiated
  • Integrate SMS principles into surveillance activities and identify high safety and regulatory compliance risks
  • Validate root causes and corrective and preventive actions
  • Collaborate with relevant organizations to finalize audit conclusions, secure commitments, and create final investigation reports
  • Provide regulatory guidance and support the CASS Review Board on technical matters
  • Participate in industry or regulatory meetings as the designated company representative
  • Maintain liaison with the FAA or other regulatory agencies
  • Interface with senior management through reports, presentations, and constructive feedback
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Sr. Manager or Director of Quality Assurance
  • Travel 50% while working remotely

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, technology or related work or military experience
  • Two years' experience in aviation, preferably in aircraft maintenance inspection, engineering, and/or quality assurance
  • Working knowledge of pertinent Code of Federal Regulations and Company Manuals / Requirements
  • Familiarity with engineering documents, drawings, AMM's, IPCs, and WDMs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated experience learning Company-specific platforms
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
  • American Society of Quality or Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
  • FAA Airframe or Powerplant License preferred
  • Three years' experience in aviation preferred
  • Experience in engineering and/or quality assurance auditing and risk assessment skills preferred
  • Experience writing policies and procedures preferred
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization software, such as Palantir, Spotfire, and/or SQL, preferred
  • Knowledge of process mapping, measurement and improvement techniques preferred
