About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Process contract changes, reinstatements, and reprojections using technical expertise and complex product knowledge
  • Review and process court documents according to state requirements in consultation with Legal
  • Handle complex processing issues and provide processing support
  • Assist with training Policy Service staff
  • Process policy surrenders, cancellations, 1035 exchanges, and qualified rollovers
  • Review policy status and provisions and document transactions, contacting policyowners for clarification as necessary
  • Verify cost basis and complete gain calculations as needed
  • Process beneficiary changes and policy assignments according to state and company guidelines
  • Process Death Master Registry entries and death notifications from Claims
  • Process, update, and monitor Authorization to Release Information reports
  • Review and process requests for duplicate policies
  • Provide internal and external customer service, including mailing forms, interpreting requests, responding to website inquiries, and completing processing
  • Complete service requests assigned from Billing and Call Center teams
  • Process insurance verifications from outside sources
  • Assist Department Management with procedures, internal audits, and staff questions
  • Review and analyze daily and monthly policy and account reports for timeliness and accuracy
  • Provide and update policy information for bankruptcies, tax levies, and subpoenas as directed by Legal
  • Process lost and uncashed check forms and complete direct deposits of funds
  • Perform other duties assigned by management

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–6 years of experience in Customer Care/Support required
  • 1–2 years of experience in a life insurance or accounting environment required
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
  • Demonstrated leadership ability required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
  • Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure
  • Ability to meet internal and external customer needs
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a heavy workload
  • Ability to multitask
  • Demonstrated ability to take on increasing levels of responsibility required
  • Must be dependable
  • Associate Degree in Business required; degree in a related field acceptable
  • Knowledge of department policies, product lines, and administrative practices preferred
  • Industry recognized certifications preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus
  • Must obtain a Career Advancement Application from Human Resources or the ADP Portal to apply
